Juliet Hyett BA (Hons), PGCE, PgDip, mBANT, rCHNC
I am a qualified registered nutritional therapy practitioner with a post graduate diploma in Nutrition Science and Practice. I am a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). My knowledge is kept up to date by continuous professional development. For example I have undertaken additional training in IBS Management and the low FODMAP diet from the GI Institute and in IBD from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition. I also have personal experience in nutrition for coeliac disease. (Please note that nutritional therapists are unable to provide medical diagnoses or treatment and medical advice should be sought).
Although I have always loved eating delicious food and cared about feeding my family healthily, it was slightly later in life that I became interested in nutrition and the effects of diet and foods and lifestyle on health.
The trigger for my interest was a medical diagnosis. Within a 12 month period 3 generations of my family were diagnosed with coeliac disease – see my blog for more information on this autoimmune disease – and another family member was diagnosed with a different autoimmune disease.
This experience taught me that food can have a huge effect on health and motivated me to return to study and gain my post graduate qualification in nutrition science. I am passionate about helping people use food and lifestyle to feel their best!
